Ocean County sponsors a Household Hazardous Disposal Program, usually in the spring and fall each year. Contact the Ocean County Department of Solid Waste Management for further information at 732-506-5047 or go to http://www.co.ocean.nj.us/recycle

Materials that are accepted at these events include paints/thinners, solvents, pool chemicals, pesticides and herbicides, auto products, toilet and drain cleaners, silver polishes, oven cleaners, photograhic chemicals, rug and upholstery cleaners, bleaches, antifreeze, waste oil and used gasoline. Check with your local public works office to see if they accept paint year round as well as waste oil and or antifreeze.

The Ocean County Northern and Southern Recycling Centers accepts waste oil and antifreeze year round as well as latex, oil based and boat paints year round. Go to our website listed above to check for times and locations.
