CURBSIDE RECYCLING OF PLASTIC BAGS

The City of Madison now requires residents to recycle certain clean bags. These bags can no longer be put in your tan refuse cart but must be brought to one of the many plastic bag recycling drop off locations in the Madison area. You may continue to use plastic bags for trash. You are only required to recycle clean, empty plastic bags.

The City of Madison accepts plastic bags and most clean plastic film (plastic drop cloths, plastic storm windows) at the curb in the green recycling cart. Bags and film MUST BE PLACED INSIDE A PLASTIC BAG AND THAT BAG MUSY BE TIED SHUT. Bags of bags should be about the sixe of a basketball.
