Make your own Recycled Art

Make Your Own Recycled Art Are you finding yourself inspired to get creative with junk? Here are a few tips: Save interesting, odd, or compelling things as you find them - keep them stored in an organized way as the treasure that they may be. PACK RAT WARNING: Know when to say ENOUGH. Think outside the box. Try making things in ways that you haven't done before. If you have painted on a canvas with old house paint before, try something new like wire sculpture or an assembled collage. Look for the story or hidden meanings in the things that you are creating and play off of those ideas. Something with a story that is recognizable can be very compelling. Don't be afraid to dig a little - SAFELY. You never know what sharp or rusty things could be hiding in that hidden garage cupboard or garbage receptacle and you never know what treasure could be lurking there. Materials could include: aluminum or other metal, cardboard, newspaper, and other papers, old calendars or magazines, scrap fabrics, string, yarn, egg cartons, gift wrap, junk mail, plastic lids, bottles, trays, and packaging materials, bags, wire, straws, wood, house paint, egg shells, plants........ Did you ever own one of these or remember seeing one?: Crocheted beer can hat, circa 1970's? Inside out carved tire flower planting bed? Licence plate purse? Recycled Art Extraordinaire! Host a Recycled Art or Junque Fashion Show! Have fun!!!
