Metal Cans

About

Municipalities collect tin and aluminum food cans through their curbside recycling program and/or at their recycling depots. Cans should be rinsed and labels removed (labels can be recycled as mixed waste paper). Put lids inside the cans and pinch the top of the can shut so recycling staff aren’t cut by the sharp edges.

Tin and aluminum beverage containers can be returned to a bottle depot for a deposit refund. Contact the RCBC Recycling Hotline or visit www.encorp.ca for a list of bottle depots in your area.
