Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) - do not place in the garbage or flush down the drain.

  • Take to the County Mobile HHW Depot
  • Search for other options on MaketheDrop.ca
  • Check with your local pharmacy to see if they will take back for proper disposal

Most medication containers that are glass or HDPE plastic with twist-off caps (like vitamin bottles) are recyclable via the County blue box programme.

Non-recyclable empty medication and prescription containers and ointment tubes should be placed in the garbage.
